My name is James Dickenson and for more than twenty five years I was a professional violinist. During this time I worked with most UK orchestras, led quartets, and recorded TV and film music. I was also heavily involved in working for the union and representing musicians.

Covid changed the direction of my career and in 2023 I graduated with an honours law degree from the Open University.

It had been on my mind for many years to create something like this, as I believe that there is a real need. Here’s why:

Increasingly it is only large corporations and the most ‘successful’, high profile musicians that are able to make a realistic living from their artistry. Agents, if you can get them usually charge upfront fees, contracts can be confusing and often onerous, royalties are a maze, not to mention all the other areas needed, websites, promotion, etc etc. If you end up in a dispute then your choices are very limited.

Here at BRAA we believe in the small musician, the small creator and our mission is to help them create the career that they want.

From promotion, to management, to chasing royalties and negotiating contracts, we can do it all, at an affordable price.
